As with most desserts the foundations of Falooda stem from Persia. Merchants traveling back and forth on the trade routes bought back the dessert to ancient India. The Falooda was later perfected by the Mughals and this sweet concoction soon spread across the globe.
This dessert drink traditionally made with rose syrup, vermicelli and sweet basil seeds combined with milk, make up the Falooda which, is often served with ice cream. It’s a cool refreshing treat not only to be enjoyed during the summer months but all year round.
Now, imagine these flavours transformed into cake… well, that’s just what I’ve done!
I’ve created my very own take on Falooda, but as a cake! It’s light and packs all the distinct flavours of Falooda, you’re sure to enjoy every mouthful and you’ll be left only wanting more!
